Accessibility Statement
Every parent and student should be able to use this site — with a keyboard, a screen reader, low vision, or a slow phone.
1. Our commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA across gyaanlab.in, and we test the site with automated accessibility tooling and keyboard-only use as part of building it.
2. What’s built in
- Keyboard navigation. Every interactive control is reachable and operable by keyboard, a visible focus outline follows you, and a “Skip to content” link is the first thing the Tab key reaches on every page.
- Screen-reader structure. Pages use one main heading with a logical heading order, proper landmarks (navigation, main content, footer, quick-contact), labels on form fields and icon buttons, and alt text on meaningful images.
- Checked colour contrast. Text colours are tested against WCAG AA contrast thresholds on our cream and white backgrounds, including the brand orange, which uses a darkened accessible shade for text.
- Reduced motion respected. If your device asks for reduced motion, decorative animation stops: the testimonial carousel does not auto-rotate, the announcement marquee holds still, and transitions are minimised.
- Pausable moving content. The homepage testimonial rotation pauses whenever your pointer or keyboard focus is inside it, and every slide is reachable directly from its dot controls.
- Responsive, zoomable layout. The site uses relative sizing and reflows cleanly, so browser zoom and large text settings work without horizontal scrolling.
- Language tagging. The site is marked as English, and decorative Hindi (Devanagari) phrases carry their own language tag so screen readers pronounce them correctly.
3. Known limitations
Some content comes from third parties or uploads we don’t fully control: embedded YouTube/Vimeo players and the Google Maps view follow those providers’ own accessibility, and some downloadable study PDFs — especially scanned ones — may not be fully screen-reader friendly. If a resource you need is hard to use, tell us and we’ll help you get the material another way.
4. Tell us when something’s hard to use
If any part of this site is difficult for you to use, email contact@gyaanlab.in with the page and what went wrong. We’ll respond within 7 working days, and fixing it goes to the top of our list.
